Keep Track of Your EV Data

It is so cheap to run an Electric vehicle it feels good to track the chargings and how much you save.

I just got my second EV and I want to log all of the data right from the start. So I made an app for myself and I am sharing it with you.

Add Your Car To The App

Add all the details of your car to the app. Did you give the car a nickname? Add it to the app. Specify the size of the battery. Add all the other basics such as the model and the year. What was the mileage when you bought the car? What was the price? What was the registration date? There's a notes section for whatever notes you want to add.

Then go to the Profile page and add your charging networks. Such as Octopus Electroverse, Ionity, Reveo, ChargeMap, Place To Plug and so on. You can add as many as you want. Keep a note of the details of these Apps, RFID cards, Membership numbers, etc.

When you start to add your charging sessions you will see these charging networks in the drop down menu. Select the one you want to use and add the details of the charging session.

Add Your Charging Network Apps and RFID Cards

If you plan to go travelling the you will need a variety of apps and RFID cards. Add them to the app so you can log all the chargings. You can keep notes about the charging networks in this app.

Add Your Charging Sessions

It's easy to add the data to the app. Pick a date, Add details like the Odometer reading. Optional to add a What3Words address to help you find the location for the next time. Your charging networks are in a drop down menu. Select the one you want to use and add the details of the charging session.

Keep track of the percentage of charge at the start and the percentage of charge at the end. Add the cost of the charging session. Add any notes you want to add. There is a button to give you the approximate kWhs added based on the percentage of charge at the start and the percentage of charge at the end. Just for when the app or the charging point doesn't give you the kWhs added. I need that feature when charging at home. Add the cost per kWh and there's another button to calculate the cost of the charging session based on the kWhs added and the cost per kWh.

In my BYD Dolphin it gives me a number which tells me the kWhs used per 100 kms. So there is a field for that. You may like to see the metric in the form of kms per kWh, have a look at the page in the app which will calculate that for you. It will also convert that number into miles per kWh.
